Friedrich Gottfried Kahn, a barber (Friseur), his wife Margaretha, and daughter Dorothea (age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 40 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Zürich in 1768.

In 1774, Friedrich Kahn and his family moved from Orlovskaya to Zürich.
