Johann Dipolt, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and children (Johann, age 5; Katharina, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Drei Gebrüder (Three Brothers) under the command of Skipper Ludwig Münzenberg.
Johan Dipolb [sic], his wife Magdalena, and children (Johan, age 5; Catharina, age 4; Barbara, born enroute) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Johan and daughter Catharina died en route.
Johann Dipolt, a tilemaker (Ziegelbrenner), and his wife Magdalena are recorded on the 1767 census of Lauwe in Household No. 10. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Dipolt came from the German region of Schwaben (Swabia). The 1767 census of Lauwe records that Johann Dipolt came from the German village of Ravensburg [?] in the Schwaben (Swabia) region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Dipolt family among the Volga German colonies.
