Georg Fau, a mason, and his wife Walpurgia arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Georg Fau and his wife Margaretha [sic] are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from Oranienbaum to Saratov in 1767.
Georg Fau, a farmer, and his wife Walpurgia are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 90 along with orphan Johann Mecker (age 9). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Fau and Mecker families. They had arrived in Paulskaya on 3 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Fau came from the German region of Bamberg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Kinterchener in the Bamberg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
