Mattias Baget, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Mattheus [sic] Baget and his wife Cathrina [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
It is not known in which colony the Baget family settled.
The 1767 census records that Mattias Baget came from the German region of Mainz.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Baget family among the Volga German colonies.
