Discussion & Documentation

Christoph Conrad, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha are recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits appended to the 1767 census of the Volga German colonies in Household No. 9 along with stepson Gottlieb Walter (age 5).

It is not known in which colony they settled.

The 1767 census records that Christoph Konrad came from the German village of Kauschwitz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Konrad family among the Volga German colonies.
