Johann Kiel, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Katharina, age 9; Konrad, age 6; Martin, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Johannes Kiel, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and children (Cathar. Elisabeth, age 9; Conrad, age 6; Joh. Martin, age 4) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Johannes and Conrad died while in route.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Kiel came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Kiel family among the Volga German colonies.
