Widower Johann Lotz, a farmer, and his children (Anna, age 8; Margaretha, age 6; Jakob, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.
Widower Johann Lotz and his children (Anna Eva, age 11; Jacob, age 4) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both father and son died in route.
It is not known in which colony Anna Eva Lotz settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Lotz came from the German region of Hanau.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lotz family among the Volga German colonies.
