Johann Philipp Fuchs, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard a Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.
They are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both died during the journey.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Philipp Fuchs came from the German region of Erbach.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Fuchs family among the Volga German colonies.
