Pankratius Kurtz [sic], his wife Dorothea, and daughters (Maria, age 9; Katharina, age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Pankratius Kuntz [sic], his wife Dorothea, and daughter Maria (age 9) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the father died in route.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
Andreas Schuck, a linen weaver (Leineweber), his [new] wife Dorothea, and [step-]daughter Helena [surname not recorded] (age 10) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 14. It's possible that this Dorothea is the widow of Pankratius Kuntz/Kurtz with whom they arrived in Saratov and with whom they traveled from St. Petersburg to Saratov. [See Schuck Family.]
The Oranienbaum passenger list does not record from where Pankratius Kuntz/Kurtz came.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
