Johann Georg Jäkel, his wife Magdalena, and son Johann (age 5¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Johann George Jeckel, his wife Magdalena, and sons (Johann, age 5; George, age 2½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that they all died en route. [Son George is probably an orphan with an unknown surname whose parents died during the voyage to St. Petersburg or after arrival in St. Petersburg.]
There are no known surviving male lines of this Jäkel family among the Volga German colonies.
