Konrad Bechthold, a stocking maker, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck on 14 August 1766 aboard a 2-masted merchant ship named Die Jungfer Frederika (The Maiden Frederika) under the command of Skipper Hans Christian Korsholm.
Konrad Pechhalbe [sic] and his wife Catarina are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Konrad died en route.
It is not known in which colony the Widow Bechthold settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Bechthold came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bechthold family among the Volga German colonies.
