Discussion & Documentation

Widow Elisabeth Spohr and her daughters (Elisabeth, age 16; Anna, age 9) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Eva Maria under the command of Skipper Franz Christopher Schröder.

Widow Elisabeth and her daughters (Elisabeth, age 16¼; Anna, age 9) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that the widow Elisabeth died en route.

It is not known in which colony the orphaned daughters settled.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Spohr family among the Volga German colonies.
