Discussion & Documentation

Johann Wagner, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Christian, age 8; Maria, age 4; Andreas, age ¾) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Kronverk under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Ilyin.

Johann Wagener [sic], his wife Katharina, and son Christian (age 8) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Christian died en route.

It is not known in which colony this family settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Wagner came from the German region of Sankt der Hausen [?].
