Discussion & Documentation

Johannes Fischer and his wife Anna Sophia arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Prinz Carl (Prince Carl) under the command of Skipper Christopher Losser.

Heinrich Fischer and his wife Anna Sophia are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Anna Sophia died in route.

It is not known in which colony the widower Heinrich Fischer settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger does not list from where Johannes Fischer came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Fischer family among the Volga German colonies.
