Discussion & Documentation

Widow Anna Margaretha Lang arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard a Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.

Widow Anna Lang is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony she settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Margaretha Lang came from the German region of Hanau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Lang family among the Volga German colonies.
