Discussion & Documentation

Johann Jakob Annert, a maker of braid (Posamentierer), his wife Maria Sophia, and son Johann Friedrich (age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 7 August 1766 aboard the ship named Nordstern (North Star) under the command of Skipper Detlev Behling.

Johann Jacob Annert, his wife Maria Sophia, and son Johann Fridrich (age 3) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both father and mother died en route.

It is not known in which colony the orphaned Johann Friedrich Annert settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Jakob Annert came from the German region of Nürnberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Annert family among the Volga German colonies.
