There are several German villages with the name Gersfeld. This one is located in the district of Fulda on the Rhön River. Several Volga German families came from this Gersfeld.

Gernsheim is located southwest of Darmstadt in the German State of Hessen. From 1232 to 1802, Gernsheim was part of the Electorate of Mainz (Kurmainz).

Georgenhausen is located about 11 kilometers east-southeast of Darmstadt.

Gelnhausen is located about 40 kilometers east of Frankfurt am Main. Historically, Gelnhausen was contolled by the Electorate of the Pfalz until 1736 when it was inherited by the Landgrafschaft of Hessen-Kassel. In 1803, it was elevated to the Electorate of Hessen.
