Park, Gove Co., Kansas

Park was founded originally by English and Irish immigrants as a stop on the Union Pacific Railroad known as Buffalo Station. It's first official name was Buffalo Park. In 1898, the name of Park was adopted.

These early immigrants were joined by Germans from the Odessa region of Russia who had originally settled in Texas, and then by Volga German families who were moving west from their orginal settlements in Ellis and Rush Counties.

Ogallah, Trego Co., Kansas

Ogallah was platted in 1878 in what was then Ellis County. The plat was filed in Hays on 18 April 1879. Trego County was established the following June. Many of the first families to settle in Ogallah came from Illinois.

Volga German families settled in and around Ogallah.

Munjor, Ellis Co., Kansas

The village of Munjor, Kansas, was founded in 1876. Munjor was first located along Big Creek, but after a couple of months was moved to its present location in Section 25 of Wheatland Township.
