Freimersheim, Kr. Südliche Weinstraße, Rheinland-Pfalz

During the War of the Palatinate Succession (1688-1697), the village of Freimersheim in der Pfalz was completely destroyed and temporarily abandonded. In 1801, the territory passed to the French, and after a brief time being part of Austria, it was passed to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816. Today, it is part of the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz.
