Hammelburg, Kr. Bad Kissingen, Bayern

Hammelburg is located in the Lower Franconia region of the German State of Bayern (Bavaria). In 741, Hammelburg was bequeathed to the Bishopric of Würzburg. From before 1500 to 1797, Hammelburg was the seat of the principality of Fulda.
