Amheiser

Just Ammenheuser, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Joost Ammenheuser, his wife Catharina, and children (Joh. Georg, age 19; Jacob, age 10; Elisabet, age 7; Joh. Willhelm, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Jost Ammenheuser, his wife Katharina, and children (Georg, age 16; Jakob, age 10; Wilhelm, age 8; Elisabeth, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Household No. 61. They had settled in Paulskaya on 7 June 1767.

In 1788, Georg Ammenheuser moved from Schwed to Reinhard.

Jost Ammenheuser and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Paulskaya in Household No. Pl36. Wilhelm Ammenheuser and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Paulskaya in Household No. Pl20.

The widow and children of the deceased Georg Ammenheuser are recorded on the 1798 census of Reinhard in Household No. Rh15.

Gottfried Amheiser relocated from Reinhard to Paulskaya in 1828 [per Paulskaya census] 1829 [per Reinhard census].

Subsequent generations of this family are recorded with the surname of Amheiser on the 1834, 1850, and 1857 censuses of Paulskaya and 1834 census of Reinhard.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Just Ammenheuser came from the German region of Darmstadt.
