Arb / Arp*
Johann Arb, a farmer, and his wife arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 May 1767. Johann is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29 along with a new wife, Dorothea, and her son (Peter Benedict).
The 1767 census records that Johann Arb came from the German village of Kilrastof in the Holstein region.
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants with this surname among the Volga German colonies.
