Jakob Armbrüster, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Volmer on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.

In 1794, Peter Armbrüster moved from Volmer to Seelmann.

The 1798 census of Volmer records that Jakob Armbrüster's son Jakob is working in Dehler.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Armbrüster came from the German village of Rastatt in the Kurpfalz region.
