Arndt (Jost)
Johann [Jakob] Arndt and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767. Johann Jakob Arndt is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8 along with his new wife Elisabeth and her children (Andreas, age 14; Christoph, age 12; Louisa, age 8) [surname Horn].
In 1796, Abraham Arndt moved from Jost to Warenburg.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann [Jakob] Arndt was a cobbler from the German village of Ziegenhain. The 1767 census records that Johann Jakob Arndt was a farmer from the German village of Ziegeser [?] in the Brandenburg region.
