Arndt (Kolb / Norka)
There are a couple of Arndt families from the German village of Bergheim that immigrated to Russia. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Johannes Arnd, son of Johann Conrad Arnd, was baptized in Bergheim on 22 February 1739. Bergheim was formerly known as Heckenbergheim. Johannes Arndt, a farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.
Johannes Arndt, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27 along with a note that he is working as a day-laborer (Lohnarbeiter).
Georg Arndt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko49.
Georg Arndt and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Kolb in Household No. 49 along with a note that son Ludwig relocated to the colony of Yagodnaya Polyana.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Arndt came from the German region of Hanau. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Heckeberg [Heckenbergheim] in the region of Hanau.
(2) Johannes Arndt, son of Johann Heinrich Arndt & Anna Elisabeth Emmerich, was born 14 November 1734 in Bergheim. Johannes married on 13 August 1762 in Bergheim to Anna Maria Magdalena Konig, daughter of Johann Heinrich Konig & Anna Margaretha Schlegel. Anna Maria Konig had been baptized 13 November 1740 in Bergheim.
Johann[es] Arndt, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Maria Elisabeth (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov. They were travelling with the single Elisabeth Arndt, but her relationship to the other Arndt families is not recorded.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 157.
Johannes Arndt, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Maria Elisabeth, age 13; Katharina, age 8; Katharina Elisabeth, age 4; Johann, age 3; Anna Maria, age 1) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 36.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johannes Arndt came from the German region of Hessen.
Johannes Arndt from Yagodnaya Polyana and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Neu-Yagodnaya-Polyana.
