Discussion & Documentation:

There are two Arndt families that settled in the Volga German colony of Schwab on 8 July 1767. Their relationship to each other is not recorded, but they are assumed to be father and son.

(1) Johann Heinrich Arndt (age 60), his wife Maria Christina, and son Johann Karl (age 18) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schwab in Household No. 22.

(2) Johannes Arndt (age 30), his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann Adam, age 11; Georg Peter, age ½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schwab in Household No. 21.

The 1767 census records that both of these Arndt families came from the German village of Bobenhausen.
