Avelius*
Wilhelm Schultze [sic] & Maria Magdalena Avelius from Büdingen were married on 15 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Wilhelm Schulz, his wife Magdalena, and his mother-in-law Philippina [sic] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Mathias under the command of Skipper David Wollert.
Widow Margaretha Filius [sic] is recorded on the 1767 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 87 along with her son-in-law Wilhelm Schulz and his wife Magdalena.
Based upon the record of her daughter's marriage in 1766, Widow Avelius is assumed to also be from Büdingen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Avelius family among the Volga German colonies.
