Bäcker / Becker (Ernestinendorf-1)
Johann Heinrich Becker, son of Johann Georg Becker & Anna Christina Schneider, was born in Staufenberg on 3 February 1737. He married on the way to Russia with Agnesa Magdalena Völck, daughter of Johann Heinrich Hector Völck & Catharina Decker. She had been born in Staufenberg on 30 March 1745.
Johann Heinrich Becker, a farmer, and his wife Agnes arrived from Lübeck at the port of 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Joh. Heinr. Becker and his wife Elisabeth [sic] are recorded on the list of colonists (along with her parents) being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the colony of Ernestinendorf on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 31 along with Agnes's younger sister Juliana (age 16).
In 1769, Johann Heinrich Becker and his family moved from Ernestinendorf to Biberstein.
