Büschel (Jost-1)*
Christoph [sic] Büschel, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
Christian [sic] Buschel [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 19 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 86.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christoph Büschel was a tailor from the German region of Sachsen while the 1767 census records that Christian [sic] Büschel was a farmer from the German village of Boblau [perhaps Bobbau] in the Dessau region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
