Anton Bäcker, son of Johann Georg Bäcker & Christina Herwig, was born in Ronshausen on 3 November 1705. He married there to Anna Barbara Bachman, daughter of Johannes Bachman, on 15 August 1728.

The baptisms of six children born to Anton Bäcker & Anna Barbara Bachman are recorded in the parish register of Ronshausen: (1) Johann Georg, baptized 4 September 1729; (2) Anna Christina, baptized 29 September 1731; (3) Johann Christoph, born 17 February 1734, baptized 19 February 1734; (4) Johannes, born 27 April 1736, baptized 30 April 1736, buried 28 August 1741; (5) Anna Barbara, born 18 February 1739, baptized 20 February 1739, buried 9 December 1739; and (6) Anna Catharina, born 29 October 1740, baptized 1 November 1740.

Anna Barbara Bäcker née Bachman died in Ronshausen on 4 July 1761.

Johann Georg Bäcker married on 19 April 1751 to Elisabetha Wingold, daughter of Caspar Georg Wingold.

The baptisms of five children born to Johann Georg Bäcker & Elisabetha Wingold are recored in the parish register of Ronshausen: (1) Johannes, born 11 May 1752, baptized 13 May 1752; (2) Johann Christoph, born 1 September 1757, baptized 4 September 1757; (3) Elisabeth, born 24 November 1761, baptized 26 November 1761; (4) Philipp, born 16 June 1763, baptized 19 June 1763; and (5) Johann Jacob, born on 22 July 1766, baptized 24 July 1766, buried 29 July 1766.

Anton Bäcker re-married on 11 May 1766 in Büdingen to widow Maria Catharina Peuscher.

Anton Becker and his new wife Katharina [Peuscher] along with Georg Becker, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johann, age 16; Elisabeth, age 5) and arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a barque named Fortitudo (Fortitude) under the command of Skipper John Scott.

The marriage of Wilhelm Bäcker from Ronshausen to Anna Eva Moritz from Sterckels is recorded on the parish register of Büdingen on 7 May 1766. They arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Skipper Login Sornev. The relationship of this Wilhelm Bäcker to Anton Bäcker is unknown at this time. Wilhelm Bäcker evidently does not survive the journey from Oranienbaum to the Volga German colonies, because Anna Eva Moritz is recorded on the 1767 census of Norka married to Wilhelm Schreiber, who had also come from the German village of Ronshausen.

Anton Bäcker (age 50 [should be 70?]), his wife Anna Maria, and children (Elisabeth, age 5; Anton, age 1) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 34.

The widow of Anton Becker and their children (Anton, age 25; Johann Heinrich, age 21) are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr057.

Anton Becker and his brother Heinrich are recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 57 along with a note that Heinrich relocated to the colony of Kolb.

Heinrich Becker from Norka and his son are recorded on the 1811 census of Kolb in Household No. 25 along with a note that Heinrich had arrived in Kolb from Norka in 1808.

Heinrich Becker and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kolb in Household No. 82.

The death of Heinrich Becker in 1854 is recorded on the 1857 census of Kolb in Household No. 102.

Friedrich Becker, son of Heinrich Becker, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Kolb in Household No. 102 and on the 1857 census of Brunnental.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Bäcker came from the German region of Hessen.

Through the years, this surname has taken a variety of spellings including Backer, Becker, and Baker.

This is one of four apparently unrelated Bäcker families that settled in Norka.
