Widow Maria Balzer and her daughter Anna [age not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Catharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.
Widow Catrina [sic] Baltzer and her daughter Anna Maria (age 23) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
It is not known in which colony this Balzer family settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that widow Maria Balzer came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Balzer family among the Volga German colonies.
