Baumgardt (Stahl am Tarlyk)
Johann Mattias Baumgardt, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and daughter Katharina (age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 13. They had settled there on 13 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johann Mattias Baumgardt came from the German village of Neu-Münster in the Holstein region.
[There is a Mattias Baumgardt, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath - along with other families that settled in Stahl am Tarlyk. The Oranienbaum passenger list records that this Mattias Baumgardt came from the region of Regensburg.]
