Johann Georg Beig, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Maria Magdalena settled in the Volga German colony of Schwab on 12 September 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Beig came from the German village of Buena in the Sachsen (Saxony) region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
