Johann[es] Bischof, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 20 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 79 along with his new wife Anna Katharina [Rau, daughter of Johann Georg Rau & Anna Margaretha Eydmann].
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Bischof was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).
Both documents record that Johannes Bischof came from the German region of Frankfurt am Main.
