Discussion & Documentation

Johann Bonträger, a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Johannes (age 3) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 53.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

The 1767 census records that Johann Bonträger came from the German village of Ingersheim.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bonträger family among the Volga German colonies.
