Borger (Kraft)
Anton Borger, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Anna Margaretha, age 15; Johannes, age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 24. They had settled in Kraft on 18 August 1767.
In 1788, Heinrich Borger (recorded as Becker) moved from Kraft to Stephan. He does not appear on the 1798 census of Stephan.
Johannes Borger's widow [Louisa Seifert] remarried to Johannes Reichert and is recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Kf22 along with her Borger children (Maria Elisabeth, age 27; Anna Rosina, age 23; Johann Adam, age 16; Johann Heinrich, age 12). [Some translations have incorrectly recorded this surname as Berger.]
[Johann] Adam Borger and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 45 along with his stepbrother Heinrich Wilhelm Reichert.
Heinrich Wilhelm Borger from Kraft and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenberg.
The 1767 census records that Anton Borger (recorded as Becker) came from the German village of Merlau in the Darmstadt region.
