Bossel (Stahl am Tarlyk)*

Peter Bossel, a farmer, his wife Angelina, and sons (Thomas, age 9; Klaus, age 7; Peter, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath. They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 5 September 1767.

Peter Pasfehl [sic], his wife Anna Cathrina, and sons (Thomas Henrich, age 12; Clauss Petersen, age 10; Peter Henrich, age ¾) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Peter Bossel, a butcher (Fleischer), his wife Angelina, and sons (Thomas Heinrich, age 13; Klaus Peter, age 12; Peter Heinrich, age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 31.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Bossel came from the German region of Mecklenburg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German district of Kolbow [?] in the Mecklenburg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
