Peter Bott, a farmer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and children (Peter, age 5; Johann Adam, age 2½; Anna Eva; age 4-weeks) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 September 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 132.
In 1789, Johann Peter Bott moved from Norka to Beideck. His widow and children are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Bd53.
In 1792, Johannes Bott moved from Norka to Beideck. He is recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Bd79. His age at that time questions whether or not he is actually part of this Bott family. Further research is necessary to verify his relationship.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Peter Bott came from the German district of Hessen.
