Johann Bode [sic], a farmer, and his wife Helena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Börse von Lübeck under the command of Skipper Martin Friedrich Markau.
Johann Bott, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Magdalena, and daughter Anna Elisabeth (age 3-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Urbach in Household No. 36. They had settled there on 3 July 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Bode [sic] came from the German region of Magdeburg. The 1767 census records that Johann Bott came from the German village of Steffin in Brandenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
