Michael Brunner, a farmer, and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Rohleder on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.

The 1767 census records that Michael Brunner came from the German region of München and his wife Maria came from the German village of Mannheim in the Kurpfalz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Brunner family among the Volga German colonies.
