Discussion & Documentation

Johann Dahler [sic], his wife Franziska, and children (Marianna, age 17½; Bonifacius, age 4; Georg, age ¾) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Frei Gebruder under the command of Skipper Minzberger.

Johann Doehler [sic], his wife Francisca, and children (Maria Anna, age 21; Bonifacius, age 4; Georg, age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony this family settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Dahler came from the German region of Bruzal [?].

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
