Peter Delwa, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Nikolaus, age 16; Johannes, age 13; Margaretha, age 11) are recorded on the 1767 census of Louis in Household No. 14. They had arrived Louis on 14 June 1766.

In 1797, Johann Delwa and his family moved from Graf to Louis.

In 1788, Nikolaus Delwa and his family moved from Louis to Mariental.

The 1798 census of Rohleder records that Peter Delwa and his sister Maria Elisabeth from Louis is working in Mariental.

The 1767 census records that Peter Delwa came from the German village of Heimerdingen in the region of Lothringen.
