Lorenz Dietrich, son of Johannes Dietrich, and Maria Magdalena Daut, daughter of Heinrich Daut, were married on 2 May 1742 in Weisenheim am Sand (Bad Dürkheim). They had a number of children whose baptisms are recorded in Weisenheim: (1) Anna Margaretha, baptized 26 July 1744; (2) Johann Jakob, baptized 23 April 1747; and (3) Andreas, baptized 8 November 1750. Lorenz Dietrich died and was buried 1 July 1753 in Weisenheim. Maria Magdalena died 28 February 1754 in Weisenheim.
Widow [mother?] Maria Dietrich and children (Jakob, age 20; Andreas, age 16; Johann, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 on a ship under the command of skipper Johann Grapp.
Jakob Dietrich is recorded on the 1798 census of Dietel in Household No. Dt38.
Andreas Dietrich is recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz055 and Georg Dietrich from Dietel is recorded in Household No. Bz056.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Maria Dietrich came from the German region of Pfalz.
