Christian Dörfler, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna (The New Fortune) under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.
Christian Dörffel [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He arrived in the Volga German colony of Jost on 5 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21 along with his new wife Anna Margaretha.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Dörfler came from the German region of Sachsen (Saxony). The 1767 census records that Christian Dörfler came from the German village of Lückstedt in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
