Ebauer
Johann Gebauer [sic], a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Konrad (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Georg Gebaauer [sic], his wife Maria Elisabetha, and son Joh. Conrad (age 1¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 75.
In 1786, Georg Gebauer [sic] moved from Nieder-Monjou to the Caucasus, but his children moved to Näb.
Son Johann Konrad Ebauer is recorded on the 1798 census of Näb in Household No. Nb11. One translation erroneously records the surname there as LeBarre.
Johann Konrad Ebauer and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Näb in Households No. 34, 55, & 66. The surname in subsequent generations is Ebauer.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Gebauer came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Endorf.
