Discussion & Documentation

Rudolf Eberling, a cooper (Böttcher), his wife Christina, and daughter Katharina (age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Diana under the command of Skipper Markus Draguhn.

Rudolf Eberling, his wife Christina, and daughter Catrina Maria (age 3) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Catrina Maria died en route.

It is not known in which colony they settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Rudolf Eberling came from the German region of Mecklenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Eberling family among the Volga German colonies.
