Franz Tobias Engel, an administrator (Verwalter), and his wife Eva Katharina Charlotte settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.
They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 52.
The 1767 census records that Franz Tobias Engel came from the German region of Kurland.
