Discussion & Documentation

Widow Anna Engel arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Anna Engel is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony she settled.

The 1767 census records that Anna Engel came from the German region of Mainz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Engel family among the Volga German colonies.
