Engelhardt (Grimm)
There are two Engelhardt families that settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm. Their relationship to each other is not recorded. They both immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 29 May 1762.
(1) Sebastian Engelhardt, his wife Katharina Elisabeth, and son Johann Adam (2-months-old) arrived in Denmark. Widow Katharina Elisabeth Engelhardt and her family are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 17.
(2) Philipp Adam Engelhardt, his wife Elisabeth, and daughter Katharina Barbara (age ¼) arrived in Denmark. They are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 57.
The Eichhorns record that both of these Engelhardt families came from "der Region bei Sulzfeld, Herrschaft von Göler von Ravensburg, Ritterlicher Kanton Kraichgau."
