Johann Enslinger, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 15 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 86 along with his new wife Anna Maria (from the region of Regensburg).
The 1767 census records that Johann Enslinger came from the German village of Weissenburg in France.
